Global AirWorks’ also provides products and integration services of new or upgraded systems for airline passenger communication, entertainment, comfort and convenience, and safety. In the past, the ability to have an aircraft maintenance allocation for the purpose of completing market driven interior changes was highly irregular because of the need for an aircraft lift was always present. Global AirWorks devised a system and plan to perform these interior modifications during the actual layover time of the aircraft. The maintenance crew actually went to the aircraft rather than the aircraft going to them. Consequently, modifications were achieved without aircraft having to leave its normal scheduled rotation of flight’s and RON locations. Due to the fact that these aircraft modifications were primarily cabin or cockpit related, the need for expensive hangars, fuel burn and ferry cost were not required. To date, Global AirWorks has performed close to 8,000 modifications and interior upgrades and over 90% were completed during the overnight layover of the aircraft.
